Missed appointments cost clinics real money, and a good booking app is often the cheapest way to cut them. But scheduling is trickier than it looks: double bookings, multiple locations, insurance checks and reminders that patients actually read. If you are looking for a doctor appointment app development company, these six teams have shown relevant work publicly.
The list is in no particular order. Each company is described based on its own website, and we only mention projects that the company itself names.
1. Leobit
Leobit has US headquarters in Austin and offices in Lviv, Tallinn, Kraków and London. Among its three public healthcare cases is a booking system for the medical sphere, which makes it one of the few firms on this list with a case literally named after scheduling. It also lists practice management and patient engagement apps, and is ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 27001:2022 certified.
2. Softermii
Softermii offers online appointment scheduling with AI agents and automatic reminders, together with telehealth and EHR/EMR integration. The company has 120+ engineers and a Clutch rating of 4.9/5. It also promises a 15% maximum scope deviation, an unusual commitment for a custom project.
3. Dotcode
Dotcode’s appointment app offering covers real-time provider availability and slot management, self-scheduling on web and mobile, SMS, email and push reminders, multi-location and multi-provider calendars, telemedicine booking and an analytics dashboard for staff. Two-way sync with Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth and Allscripts runs through FHIR R4 or HL7. Delivery follows six stages from workflow analysis to post-launch support, with a fixed estimate after discovery. A focused MVP with booking and reminders takes 8–12 weeks, according to the company.
The most relevant Dotcode case is XO Armor, where doctors with very different levels of tech skill needed one simple desktop app instead of three tools, which is the same usability challenge you meet with front-desk staff and patients. The Thrive Card case adds mobile experience: iOS and Android apps, real-time notifications, identity verification and role-based access for different user groups. Neither is a scheduling product, but both show the pieces a booking app is made of.
4. TATEEDA GLOBAL
San Diego-based TATEEDA built a patient portal mobile app for La Maestra Family Clinic. The company lists patient portals, EHR/EMR and FHIR/HL7 integrations among its services and works with about 100 senior specialists.
5. Riseapps
Riseapps integrates with Epic, Cerner, Athena, eClinicalWorks, Oracle Health and NextGen, and builds patient and provider portals. A client testimonial on the site mentions 462 booked patients after launch. It is HIPAA-compliant and ISO 27001 certified.
6. Binariks
Binariks has 200+ professionals and covers telemedicine, remote monitoring and interoperability. Its public healthcare projects include a COVID-19 testing mobile app for a digital health company. Choose it when scheduling is a part of a wider digital health product.
Five features that decide whether the app gets used
- Booking in under a minute, without forced account creation.
- Reminders by the channel the patient picks, with a one-tap reschedule.
- Live sync with the EHR so staff never maintain two calendars.
- Waitlist logic that fills cancelled slots automatically.
- Admin view that shows no-show rates by clinic and doctor.
When you talk to vendors, ask them to demonstrate how their app handles a double booking across two locations. The answer shows how deep their scheduling logic really goes.
